Covid-19 UpdateAt City Osteopaths healthcare, we take your safety very seriously. To prevent viral spread we each need to do our part. We are currently running under the Orange Traffic Light setting and as a critical healthcare service and are able to keep functioning during all levels.
Below is a simple guide for our practice under the orange and red traffic light settings: Clients - Health pre- screen, filled out prior to each appointment - Wear a medical grade well fitted mask (we can provide on arrival) - Sanitise on arrival and departure - Stay home if potentially exposed or unwell - Social distance in reception City Osteopaths Team - Are fully vaccinated - Wear appropriate healthcare worker PPE, including medical grade well fitted masks - Each team member keeps as a separate bubble - Wash hands throughout the day - Clean touch points with anti-viral cleaning products - Air out rooms between each client - Regular antigen testing - Use a hepa UV air filter, fans and open windows - Stay home if exposed or unwell - Ozone antiviral treatment of the hyperbaric chamber between clients |
How are we going to keep you Covid-safe?
Our practitioners and front desk team are all double vaccinated. Before your appointment you are required to fill out a pre screening form to check for any risk factors and signs of illness. As always, if you are unwell we ask you to call our front desk team, to change your appointment to an online telehealth appointment in the comfort of your home, or reschedule your appointment.
On arrival at our clinic, wear a mask, and use the high alcohol content antibacterial hand sanitiser provided at the entrance to our clinics. We have social distancing set up and a Hepa/UV air purifier to help kill bacteria and viruses, continually cleaning the air in our reception.
What are our hygiene and PPE protocols?
We have ‘Cleaning and Airing times’ in between each patient so there is time for a full recirculation of air before you enter the treatment room. We have opening windows, fans and some rooms have air purifiers. In this time your practitioner will also wipe (with a food grade antiviral disinfectant) all the surfaces you may come in contact with during your treatment. We may also switch between treatment rooms to allow extra time for airing. We are fortunate to currently have that option in our practice at this time.
All our practitioners and staff will be wearing surgical or double layer hydrophobic masks. We want to make it really hard to catch anything at our practice. So you can feel Covid-safe and in good hands throughout your visit.
If you are immunocompromised or unvaccinated, we recommend you contact us so we can make special arrangements for you. These include timing your appointment appropriately and wearing a well fitted N95 mask to your appointment. This will reduce the likelihood of becoming infected in the unlikely event that you are exposed. If you are mask exempt please talk with us, as we can utilise Telehealth or there may be an option to obtain a negative Rapid Antigen Test immediately before your treatment.
Can we help treat Covid?
In the acute phases you will need to be isolating at home or in hospital. We can provide online supportive treatment at that time via telehealth to help with breathing and exercises from our osteopaths, and nutritional advice and supplements from our naturopath and medical herbalist.
Osteopaths are primary healthcare providers. We are able to help patients with a wide range of ailments. While it is important to note that no osteopath can cure Covid, what we can do to help you prepare, is a mixture of treatment, rehabilitation, exercise and advice, to help your body develop and maintain good health, to give it the best possible environment for fighting disease, should you become infected. If you have developed long-Covid or vaccine reaction, we can treat you specifically to help your recovery. This may include treatment of the sympathetic nervous system, lungs, thoracic cage, ribs and diaphragm. We also give you exercises to improve function, give advice on how to recover and more. Hyperbaric oxygen can also be helpful in assisting your recovery. Each treatment is always tailored to you as an individual, to help you back to full health.
A final reminder: if you are unwell or could have been exposed in a location of interest, we ask you to call our front desk team on 044991439 to change your appointment to an online telehealth appointment in the comfort of your home, or reschedule your appointment. Thank you.
